Senate schedules budget vote today
Senate President Pro Tem Darrell Steinberg announced today that the Senate will convene at 1 p.m. today to vote on Gov. Jerry Brown's budget proposal. "There is no time to waste. Let's vote," Steinberg said in a statement. He called Brown's proposal to cut spending and extend temporary taxes "the only plan on the table that responsibly and honestly promises to put California's fiscal crisis behind us once and for all."
