2009.4.26 Chatsworth Historical Society's Annual Garden Festival Sunday, April 2611 a.m. to 4 p.m.Homestead Acre at Chatsworth Park South10385 Shadow Oak Dr. Chatsworth , CAArts and crafts, gardening, food booths, demonstrations, the Polynesian Dance Revue, a quilting display and more. Proceeds benefited the Chatsworth Historical Society.Free parking is available at the Chatsworth Depot Train Station and there will be free shuttle buses to the festival from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Homestead Acre is located within Chatsworth Park South at the end of Devonshire Street, west of Topanga Canyon Boulevard. Description: The Homestead Acre, Chatsworth Park South which is Los Angeles Cultural Historical Monument No. 133, is owned by the Los Angeles City Department of Recreation and Parks with the Chatsworth Historical Society acting as conservator of the property.

Mission Statement
The CHS was formed in 1963 and upholds a three point mission in addition to the commemoration of historical dates and events:
- to preserve and mark historic sites and landmarks of the Chatsworth area.
- to be an agency for the collection of photographs, artifacts, and archaeological items that represent the history of Chatsworth.
- to establish a museum to house and exhibit the collection.

Hours of Service
The Homestead Acre, which houses the Chatsworth Historical Society, the Chatsworth Museum, the Frank H. Schepler, Jr. Memorial Library, and the Hill-Palmer Homestead Cottage, is open to the public from 1 to 4 P.M. on the first Sunday of every month for tours. Special tours of at least 10 or more people can be arranged by telephoning the CHS at (818) 882-5614.
