OPEC is expected to keep pumping oil at a steady rate.

Hugo Chavez, president of Venezuela, had called for OPEC to cut its production levels. But Qatar's oil minister, Abdullah al-Attiyah, said that he did not believe output should be cut now, echoing comments by other important players in the cartel, according to the AP.

The oil cartel meets today to discuss oil production levels
