Is the war party about to get its wish for war with Russia?

It would seem so. President Donald Trump – who differs remarkably from campaigner Donald Trump – tweeted a startling belligerent statement at Russia Wednesday morning in response to a statement by Russian Ambassador to Lebanon Alexander Zasypkin. Referencing Trump’s comments on the possibility of a U.S. strike in the wake of an alleged gas attack, Zasypkin stated:

If there is a strike by the Americans, then we refer to the statements of President [Vladimir] Putin and the chief of staff that the missiles will be downed and even the sources from which the missiles were fired.

Trump apparently awoke to that and couldn’t resist a response, tweeting:

Russia vows to shoot down any and all missiles fired at Syria. Get ready Russia,* because they will be coming, nice and new and “smart!” You shouldn’t be partners with a Gas Killing Animal who kills his people and enjoys it!

The war of tweet words escalated from there, with Zasypkin replying:

If there is a strike by the Americans on #Syria , then… the missiles will be downed and even the sources from which the missiles were fired.

Meanwhile, Trump canceled a trip to South America, and the U.S. Navy Destroyer Donald Cook was said to be headed across the Mediterranean from Cyprus towards Syria, according The Sun. The Arleigh Burke-class guided missile destroyer is armed with Tomahawk cruise missiles, the weapon of choice in attack one year ago on an airfield in Syria following an alleged sarin gas attack on civilians.

The Sun also reports:
Meanwhile USS Harry Truman aircraft carrier strike group was on its way to the Syrian coast armed with cruise missiles and an array of warplanes.

Yet it emerged today Russia has started jamming US military drones operating over Syria seriously affecting America’s ability to strike targets.

And to add to the allies woes Russia has deployed its accurate S-400 missile air defence systems in key locations.

There have also been unconfirmed reports of the systems being deployed around the Assad’s presidential palace in Damascus.

Surprisingly, there are apparently no plans for Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin to speak to one another about the growing crisis. Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Putin has no plans for phone talks with Trump. With World War III imminent, that’s a startling admission. It indicates the ongoing “Trump-is-Putin’s-puppet” propaganda has been successful – at least for those who want war with Russia.

Zerohedge is reporting:
Eurocontrol, the European air traffic control agency, warned airlines Tuesday to exercise caution in the eastern Mediterranean due to possible airstrikes in the next 72 hours.

Retired Adm. James Stavridis, a former head of NATO and an NBC News analyst, warned that any U.S. strike on Syria would likely require manned aircraft and characterized it as a “high-risk operation.”

“Last year was about sending a signal,” Stavridis said, referring to the April 2017 strike ordered by Trump. “This year it’s about destroying actual Syrian capability.”

What has happened to the Trump who in 2013 tweeted he not only wouldn’t go into Syria, if he was he wouldn’t telegraph it ahead of time?

The neocon war party has kidnapped him and replaced him with a doppelganger.

However, as tensions mount there is still no evidence that a chemical attack took place or, if it did, that it was initiated by the Syrian military. The two last times the U.S. government claimed Bashar Assad’s military was responsible for gas attacks turned out to be false flags.

This one most likely is as well. John Bolton, one of the architects of previous failed U.S. Middle East wars, must be positively giddy. Though how the U.S. military is going to defeat Russia, Syria, Iran and Hezbollah when it can’t whip the Taliban in Pakistan or al-Qaida in Afghanistan remains to be seen.

And unlike the Taliban or al-Qaida, Russia has a means of striking U.S. soil with everything from conventional weapons to nuclear weapons.

We recommend you check your storage supplies and stock up as necessary.
