Taser to launch video-software system

Taser to launch video-software system
For years, Taser International Inc. has used a no-holds-barred strategy for fighting product-liability and wrongful-death lawsuits over use of its law-enforcement stun guns. So perhaps it's not surprising that the company came up with the idea four years ago for a video camera that police officers can wear to record digitally altercations with suspects. Since then, Scottsdale-based Taser has plowed a huge chunk of its research-and-development budget into two new products: Taser AXON and Evidence.com. AXON, a device that includes an iPhone-like digital player and a video recorder connected to an earpiece, and Evidence.com, a Web-based software program for viewing footage, are part of Taser's push to diversify.
