AFP Praises Sen. Josh Hawley?s Advise and Consent*Role Ahead of Rao Vote

02.27.19 07:26 PM

Arlington, Va. –**Americans for Prosperity President Tim Phillips issued the following statement ahead*of the Senate Judiciary*Committee’s vote to advance the nomination of Neomi Rao to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit: “We appreciate Senator Hawley taking his “advise and consent” role seriously as he considers Neomi Rao for the D.C.-circuit court of appeals, and that he is willing to ask tough questions of judicial nominees. We are grateful he met with Ms. Rao and has shown a commitment to confirm judges that interpret the law as written. Ms. Rao has made clear she will put her personal views aside and follow the law. Ms. Rao is well-qualified to be confirmed by the United States Senate. We urge Senator Hawley to vote “yes” tomorrow in support of Ms. Rao’s confirmation.”
