ARLINGTON, VA –*President Trump today announced plans to give away $16 billion in new trade subsidies to American farmers hurt by the ongoing tariff war.* Americans for Prosperity urged the administration to abandon protectionist trade policies harming farmers, workers, business owners, and families across the country. AFP Vice President of Economic Opportunity @Russell Latino issued the following statement: “Today’s announcement is emblematic of a dangerous ‘carrot and stick’ game, where $16 billion in bailouts are being offered to farmers as a concession for harm created by flawed trade policies.
