Commissioner Sandra Figueroa-Villa opened the meeting and a quorum was established. No Consent Agenda Items to approve.

Executive Directorís Report, dated June 29, 2017, relative to the write-off of uncollectable false alarm receivables for the period of January 1, 2013 through February 28, 2013, as set forth. [BPC #17-0282] was approved.

Executive Directorís Report, dated June 30, 2017, relative to the proposed adjustments to police permit fees for fiscal year 2017-2018, as set forth. [BPC #17-0283] was approved.

Chief Beck stated he spoke with the New York City Police Commissioner Jimmy OíNeal to convey the Departmentís condolences for the assassination of Officer Familia of NYPD. Chief Beck said that all of law enforcement is mourning her loss due to a senseless crime. Officer Familia was a single mother of three, and was killed because of what she does for a living.

Chief Beck reported on two Officer Involved Shootings that occurred since last Commission meeting. The first occurred in the Rampart area on June 28, while the other was on June 29, initiating in the Southwest area but ended in Hawthorne.

Chief Beck stated he did not have the exact numbers for the personnel status report, but a graduation is scheduled for Friday, July 7, leaving the Department approximately 75 sworn positions below the goal. There are approximately 500 civilian vacancies, 400 reserve officers on the roster, and approximately 2,200 active cadets.
