07.12.17 01:57 PM
Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Department's South Traffic detectives are seeking the public's assistance in identifying the driver involved in a hit and run that seriously injured 34-year-old, Ingrid Argueta.

On Friday, July 7, 2017, around 10:45 p.m., a vehicle traveling northbound on Denker Avenue, collided with a pedestrian who was crossing westbound 79th Street outside of the crosswalk. The driver of the vehicle failed to remain at the scene and render assistance. The vehicle fled northbound Denker Avenue. The victim was transported to a local hospital and was treated for cranial bleeding, a laceration to the back of her head, abrasions to her arm and possible fractured legs.

On April 15, 2015, the City Council amended the Los Angeles Administrative Code and created a Hit and Run Reward Program Trust Fund. A reward of up to $50,000 is available to community members who provide information leading to the offender's identification, apprehension, and conviction or resolution through a civil compromise.

Anyone with additional information is urged to call South Traffic Division, Detective Section, Investigator K. Yount at (323) 421-2500. During non-business hours or on weekends, calls should be directed to 1-877-LAPD-24-7 (1-877-527-3247). Anyone wishing to remain anonymous should call the L.A.
