Time to Cut Taxpayer Funded Bonuses

AFP-FL applauds Governor Scott’s call to cut bonuses for Enterprise Florida (EFI) Tallahassee, FL – Americans for Prosperity-Florida (AFP FL) the leading advocates against government waste are applauding Governor Scott for asking the board of directors of Enterprise Florida to*cut*employee bonuses this year. Taxpayers pay nearly 90% of the supposed public-private partnership’s budget, which goes against how the agency was originally organized. AFP-FL State Director Chris Hudson released the following statement: “Giving lucrative bonuses to an agency that has failed at its mission and should be eliminated is a bad idea and we applaud Governor Scott’s decision to stop them.* Even if these bonuses were to supposedly be dispensed using private dollars, the agency is mostly funded by taxpayers. These bonuses wouldn’t be an issue if an unneeded entity like Enterprise Florida never existed. We hope the legislature continues to make strides towards eliminating this failed agency.”
