As Irma Approaches, Collier County Schemes to Raise Taxes

Collier County Commissioners should be ashamed of themselves for holding budget talks while citizens worry to protect their families and homes Naples, FL – Americans for Prosperity-Florida (AFP-FL) state director Chris Hudson released the following statement regarding the shameful decision of Collier County Commissioners to hold a budget and spending hearing today. “Is it too much to ask that County Commissioners postpone such an important meeting so people can participate in their government? While our families are boarding up their homes, or evacuating with their loved ones, they decide to hold a public hearing – knowing most of us can’t attend. Taxpayers deserve to have their voices heard, and right now the Collier County Commission is coldheartedly moving forward without giving the public a legitimate chance to participate in our government. I commend Commissioner Bill McDaniel for voicing opposition to holding tonight’s meeting.”
