If it weren’t so frightening, it would be funny: Representative Diana DeGette (D-Colo.), the leading sponsor of a bill that would impose a Federal ban on high capacity magazines, has no idea what magazines actually are.
During a forum on gun control sponsored by
The Denver Post on Tuesday, DeGette was asked to give specific examples of how a ban on high-capacity magazines would reduce violence.
Her response: “I will tell you these are ammunition, they’re bullets, so the people who have those now, they’re going to shoot them. So if you ban them in the future, the number of these high-capacity magazines is going to decrease dramatically over time, because the bullets will have been shot and there won’t be any more available.”
