A recent poll out from
Pew reveals, unsurprisingly, that Democrats throughout the Nation are reluctant to hold the Administration of Barack Obama responsible for scandals that have recently made national headlines.
In reference to the Justice Department’s decision to subpoena the phone records of
Associated Press journalists as part of an investigation into classified information leaks, 52 percent of Democrats who said they were following the story “very” or “fairly” closely approved of the DOJ actions. Among Republicans giving the same amount of attention to the story, just 28 percent were in approval.
Similarly, 63 percent of Democrats keeping a close eye on stories about the Internal Revenue Service’s undue scrutiny on conservative groups believe that the White House has little to do with the scandal. Seventy-eight percent of Republicans paying attention to the stories said the Obama Administration was directly involved in the IRS’s antics.
