• Tax dollars at work: President Barack Obama’s 2009 economic stimulus law financed a $431,363 grant in Representative Nancy Pelosi’s San Francisco-area Congressional district to study the “psychological distress” of homosexual fathers. After three years the study concluded: Gay fathers have less time for sex.

• A High School valedictorian in South Carolina drew applause when he decided to tear up his valedictory address and instead recite the Lord’s Prayer. School officials received the gesture well: “We’re not going to punish students for expressing their religious faiths,” said a spokesman.

• Contestants at this year’s Miss World beauty pageant will not wear bikinis in the parade in a bid to avoid causing offence in Muslim-majority Indonesia, organizers confirmed Wednesday. Perhaps they could have a Burqini contest instead?

• Attorney General Eric Holder says he has absolutely “no intention” of leaving his spot as the Nation’s top lawman.

• The Iowa City city council has temporarily banned all forms of automated traffic enforcement, including red light cameras and drones. Most on the city council still favor traffic cameras, but succumbed to pressure from residents; the ban came in response to a citizen petition that would have put the matter to a referendum.
